Germany’s auto industry hemorrhaging jobs
Germany’s automotive sector is shedding jobs faster than any other industrial branch, according to Destatis. Employment fell by 42,300, or 5.8%, to 691,500 in the first half of 2026, its lowest level since 2005. Farmers also warn that drought could damage this year’s harvest.
