Return Right machines are being upgraded to make it easier for users to claim the 10-cent refund on drink containers. The changes include more time for collecting refunds, louder audio prompts and clearer refund buttons. A further 300 machines will be installed at additional locations. Since the Beverage Container Return Scheme began on 1 April, more than 5 million containers have been returned. Plastic containers account for 55% of the total, with the remainder made of metal.
