WorldIsrael escalates strikes in southern Lebanon after soldiers are killed

Israel has launched another wave of air strikes across southern Lebanon after two Israeli soldiers died in an explosion near the border. Several towns, including Al-Mansouri and Bourj El-Shemali, were hit. The attacks came while a US-backed ceasefire technically remains in force. Israeli and Lebanese officials are meeting in Rome in an effort to preserve the truce, as residents fear the violence could develop into a return to full-scale conflict.
