PoliticsLegal expert explains Senate panel vote to hold Fauci in contempt

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted to hold Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress. Fauci guided the response to the Covid-19 pandemic and led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases when the pandemic began. During a committee hearing last week, he invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times. The vote could begin a process that may lead the Justice Department to consider further action.
