TechOpenAI employee arrested over alleged recording device
OpenAI says it found a concealed recording device in one of its offices and used its AI models to identify an employee who had allegedly planted it. Engineer Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, is charged with using or attempting to use a device to intercept oral communications. The device was reportedly plugged into a TV in an executive conference room. OpenAI fired him and referred the case to the FBI, saying it has no indication he accessed or removed model weights, source code, or customer data.
