PoliticsUS to expand military presence in Greenland under three-way deal
The United States, Denmark and Greenland signed a New York agreement to expand US military activities on the strategic Arctic island. It allows modernization of Pituffik Space Base and an additional defense area at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig, while restricting non-NATO military installations and certain outside control in sensitive sectors. The pact takes effect after Danish and Greenlandic parliamentary procedures are completed.
