PoliticsUS signs ‘tremendous’ Arctic security deal with Denmark, Greenland

The United States, Denmark and Greenland signed an agreement at the UN General Assembly in New York to expand Washington’s military presence on the Arctic island. It permits upgrades and expansion at Pituffik Space Base, new bases in the south and east, broader flight and undersea access, and gives the US significant control over other countries’ military presence there.
