US President Donald Trump, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen signed an agreement assigning the United States responsibility for Greenland’s security. The deal was signed alongside the 81st UN General Assembly session in New York. Trump had said Washington would immediately expand its military presence on the Arctic island.
