PoliticsUS, Denmark and Greenland to sign Arctic security deal after months-long standoff

The United States, Greenland and Denmark are set to sign a new security pact at the UN General Assembly. The agreement could end months of President Donald Trump’s pressure for greater US control over the strategically important Arctic island. Trump says it gives the US a permanent role in Greenland’s security, including preventing adversaries from establishing bases there.
