TechGoogle fined €403m by Irish data watchdog over GDPR violations

Ireland’s Data Protection Commission has fined Google €403m for processing location data in ways it found unlawful, unfair and non-transparent under GDPR. The case covered three location-related features between 2018 and 2020, and Google was ordered to comply within six months. Google said the historical policies have since been updated and cited recent privacy improvements.
