Ireland has withdrawn from next year’s Eurovision Song Contest over what it calls the “appalling and ongoing loss of lives in Gaza.” Dutch broadcaster AvroTros had earlier announced a boycott, saying the event no longer matched its standards of “trustworthiness, independence and humanity.”
