Simbarashe Kundizeza denies using AI to write “The Blue Fighter,” his short story that won this year’s Caine Prize for African Writing. After The Atlantic reported that detection software had judged the story AI-generated, prize chair Ellah Wakatama criticized the magazine for publishing the accusation before a full investigation. Kundizeza will provide drafts as the prize conducts an inquiry.
