China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said on Tuesday that 74-year-old Huang Qifan is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation for suspected serious violations of discipline and law. It did not specify the allegations. Huang served as Chongqing mayor during the scandals involving Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun, and continued giving public talks as an economist after leaving office. A reported speech in Hangzhou was abruptly cancelled two weeks earlier.
