WorldEuropean states, Canada, Japan and UN back ICC against US sanctions
Several countries, including US allies, and UN officials condemned Washington’s new sanctions on the International Criminal Court and reaffirmed their support. The foreign ministers of Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada and Japan said the penalties would significantly affect the court and its staff if enforced. The Netherlands said a six-month grace period leaves room for dialogue.
