HealthEbola spirals out of control in eastern DR Congo, NGO says
Africanews, citing Doctors Without Borders, reports that Ebola transmission in North Kivu has spiraled out of control. The province accounts for nearly 40% of the country’s new confirmed cases; most are not linked to known transmission chains. Fear is keeping some residents from seeking care, while cases have spread to neighboring health districts and treatment capacity is lacking. The Bundibugyo-strain outbreak has recorded more than 8,600 cases and over 4,100 deaths.
