PoliticsARD-Deutschlandtrend poll: Germans unite in frustration with government

Ahead of the 36th anniversary of reunification, an ARD-Deutschlandtrend poll found broad dissatisfaction with Germany’s political leaders and doubts that they can handle challenges from AI, Russia and Donald Trump. Only about one in 10 respondents were satisfied with the federal government and Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The AfD led a hypothetical election with 27%, while CDU/CSU polled at 20% and the SPD at 13%.
