Hungary’s parliament has lifted the immunity of the prime minister and several ministers from Viktor Orbán’s era in separate criminal cases. Péter Magyar, whose Tisza party won April’s election after pledging to investigate alleged corruption and abuse of office during Orbán’s 16-year rule, says he wants to abolish parliamentary immunity altogether.
