Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia expects the 10th UN secretary-general, to be chosen before the end of 2026, to represent the entire international community rather than the interests of particular countries. He also urged the office not to undermine the UN’s intergovernmental system or the authority of the Security Council and its permanent members.
