Rashad al-Alimi, chair of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, called for a general mobilisation to support Saudi-backed government forces against Houthi advances toward the Bab al-Mandeb strait. He said Houthi fighters who defect immediately can receive amnesty under constitutional and legal procedures. The Saudi-led coalition later said it intercepted a ballistic missile and two drones headed toward Saudi Arabia.
