Prime Minister Balendra Shah told the UN General Assembly that the August flood disaster in northern Nepal and along the China-Tibet border was a warning to the world about climate change. At least 1,453 people died and 5,500 remained missing. Shah urged faster action and proposed a Himalaya Climate Resilience Mechanism with India and China.
