Israel’s Central Elections Committee voted to disqualify the United Arab List, or Ra’am, and the Joint List from next month’s election, while also voting to bar Ofer Cassif and Sami Abu Shehadeh. The decisions are not final: the lists can appeal, and the individual bans require Supreme Court approval. The parties call the move political and say they will challenge it.
