HealthAirport malaria in Germany remains infrequent

Eight people near Frankfurt Airport have contracted malaria since July and three have died, mostly among employees of operator Fraport. Health officials believe the cases are linked to an infected mosquito arriving by aircraft or in luggage. Cooler autumn temperatures reduce the risk, but experts warn that further cases may still emerge.
