PoliticsEU moves to ban social media for children under 13

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has proposed banning social media access for children under 13 and restricting it for 13- to 15-year-olds. She also called for new obligations on platforms, online games and AI chatbots used by minors under 18, citing growing concerns over children’s online safety and health.
