WorldDrone attacks by Colombian armed groups more than double in early 2026

Colombia’s Ombudsman’s Office says drone attacks by armed groups rose 146% in the first five months of 2026 from the same period last year. The attacks killed 21 people and injured 145, including children, with civilians making up nearly a third of the casualties. The recurring attacks have also driven fear, displacement and restrictions on daily life.
