At least 48 people have died and about 100 are being treated in southern Nigeria after drinking locally brewed alcohol suspected of containing methanol. Officials believe 182 people were affected, while police arrested 15 people in connection with the incident. Locals suspect methanol was added to a high-alcohol herbal drink known as “Monkey Tail”.
