CultureAztec codex goes on display in Mexico after 186 years abroad
France’s national library has lent the 16th-Century Codex Azcatitlán to Mexico, where it will be shown at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City from Thursday. Told through pictograms, the manuscript recounts Aztec history, including the defence of Tenochtitlán against Spanish conquistadors. Mexico will lend France the Codex Boturini in return.
