The Pinglu Canal, a backbone project of China’s New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, opened to navigation on Wednesday. It will connect western inland goods to the sea, cutting shipping distance by more than 560 kilometers and logistics costs by up to 30%. A mainland spokesperson welcomed people from Taiwan to share the project’s opportunities.
