The Pskov Regional Court sentenced a Ukrainian citizen to eight years and six months in a maximum-security penal colony under Article 276.1 for allegedly sending money to foundations supporting Ukraine’s armed forces while living and working in Russia. He was also fined 500,000 rubles and had his cellphone confiscated. Mediazona identified him as Anton Demidenko. The case is the first known use of the new law, whose minimum sentence is 10 years; why the court imposed less is unknown.
