The Pinglu Canal’s first cross-border river-sea freight route linking Laos and Vietnam with Guigang, Guangxi, has begun operations. Its inaugural shipment carries 3,012.66 metric tons of potassium chloride to a fertilizer company’s base in Guigang. The route cuts nearly 500 kilometers and five to seven days from the journey, while reducing handling, costs and cargo losses.
