WorldFrench legionnaire escapes Colombian captors after four-day trek to freedom

Jose Olger Melo Charry, a Colombian soldier serving in the French Foreign Legion, escaped guerrilla captors after walking for four days through rebel-held territory. A dissident faction of the defunct FARC took him hostage on August 6 while he was travelling along a highway in southwestern Colombia.
