WorldCGTN on the frontline: Inside the ongoing mudslide rescue

A powerful mudslide swept across the China–Nepal border on August 26, destroying buildings and roads and severing communications and power. More than 2,300 personnel joined the operation amid deep mud and dangerous terrain. After the G216 highway reopened on September 2, heavy machinery entered the core zone for deeper searches. Chinese researchers preliminarily linked the disaster to a glacier collapse in Nepal that evolved into a massive mudslide.
