CultureTunisia’s iconic Sidi Bou Said town added to UNESCO World Heritage List
UNESCO recognised Tunisia’s iconic town of Sidi Bou Said as a World Heritage site in July. The designation could support efforts to protect the historic tourist destination from erosion while raising awareness of its lesser-known Sufi mystical traditions. Kharja ceremonies are held there from mid-August through the end of September.
