China has expressed deep condolences over the death of Norway’s King Harald V and offered sympathy to Norway’s royal family, government and people. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Harald was widely respected and had contributed to China-Norway friendship. The king died aged 89 on August 28, and Crown Prince Haakon immediately succeeded him.
