China has expressed deep condolences over the death of Norway’s King Harald V and offered sympathy to the Norwegian royal family, government and people. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Harald was widely respected in Norway and had contributed to China-Norway friendship and cooperation. The Royal House said he died aged 89 on August 28, with Crown Prince Haakon succeeding him.
