WorldIsraeli strikes push up Lebanon’s death toll and deepen economic strain
Continued Israeli attacks have raised Lebanon’s reported death toll since October 8, 2023 to 8,915, with 30,543 injured. The Health Ministry says 4,348 people have been killed and 12,307 wounded since March 2, 2026. Strikes continued in southern districts including Bint Jbeil and Nabatieh. The World Bank forecasts Lebanon’s economy will contract 6.4% in 2026, with inflation reaching 17.5%, as renewed fighting damages infrastructure, displaces people and disrupts tourism, consumption and supply chains.
