ScienceBulgaria to curb nuclear output as Danube levels plunge
Bulgaria will cut output at the state-owned Kozloduy nuclear plant by about 120 megawatts at one reactor because of an “unprecedented and critical” fall in Danube water levels. The ministry said the measure is needed for safe operation and marks the first weather-related reduction in the plant’s 52-year history. Romania and Hungary have also cut nuclear output amid the drought.
