South Korea and the United States have shortened the Ulchi Freedom Shield exercise from 11 days to five and reduced some field manoeuvre training after Donald Trump ordered a substantial cut to the annual war games. Some live-training events were cancelled or switched to simulations, while officials said essential readiness goals would remain intact.
