A “massive” Ukrainian drone attack hit an industrial city deep inside Russia, killing at least 13 people, according to the local mayor. Kyiv said the target was the Taneco refinery in Nizhnekamsk, about 1,200km from the Ukrainian border. Ukraine’s general staff described the raid as part of a campaign to reduce the “military potential of the Russian aggressor”. The strike was among the deadliest launched by Kyiv so far from the frontline. Online footage appeared to show smoke rising from the refinery.
