HealthDR Congo set to open its largest-ever Ebola treatment facility
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is preparing to open what would be its largest Ebola treatment facility to date. Construction is nearly finished while health authorities rush to contain an outbreak that the World Health Organization says is intensifying at an “exceptional” pace. The WHO recorded 3,605 confirmed cases and 1,587 deaths in the country as of July 30. Officials hope the additional capacity will reinforce the response and improve care for patients as the outbreak continues to spread.
