HealthDR Congo set to open its largest-ever Ebola treatment facility

The Democratic Republic of Congo is preparing to open its biggest Ebola treatment facility to date. Construction is almost complete as health authorities race to curb an outbreak that the World Health Organization says is intensifying at an “exceptional” pace. The WHO recorded 3,605 confirmed cases and 1,587 deaths in the country as of July 30. Officials hope the added capacity will bolster the response and improve care for patients while the outbreak continues to spread.
