TechUK meat processors’ refrigeration systems hit by cyber-attacks
UK meat processing firms have been targeted in cyber-attacks after hackers raised the temperatures of supermarket freezers elsewhere in Europe. The National Cyber Security Centre said the national impact was minimal and that no UK grocery chain had been directly affected. Some meat suppliers reported heating or defrosting units, but the affected units were empty and no produce was lost. Researchers said activity targeting decoy fridge controls resembled operations previously linked to Russia.
