Ebola infections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo rose again after a short decline, while spread to other African countries is complicating containment, the WHO said. By October 19, the DRC had reported 9,637 confirmed cases and 4,646 deaths; Kenya and Nigeria also reported cases. The WHO warned that insecurity, displacement and restricted humanitarian access are hampering response efforts.
