TechSpotify confirms it is tightening checks on Family Plan sharing

Spotify co-CEO Alex Norström said the company is using a new QR-code check, requiring users to scan the plan manager’s phone, to identify Family Plan members who do not live together. He called the changes a routine improvement and said verification will keep evolving. Users who miss the seven-day scan window may be barred from joining another Family or Duo plan for 12 months.
