WorldRubio presses Lebanon to confiscate Hezbollah weapons
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that security forces were enforcing the pledge to bring all weapons under state control and confiscating illicit arms nationwide. Rubio called for those behind an explosives shipment to be held accountable, while Aoun asked him to press Israel to stop attacks and destruction in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah acknowledged the group’s link to a truck carrying 780kg of explosives intercepted between Beirut and the Bekaa Valley, saying the materials were intended for operations against Israel.
