WorldHormuz, Bab al-Mandeb must not be used as ‘bargaining chips’, analyst says

Mohammed al-Hashemi, director of the Doha-based Middle East Insights Institute, says strategic waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb should be kept out of international bargaining. His comments came as an attack-related shutdown of Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline threatened up to 5 percent of supply.
