Henry Ensher, a former US ambassador to Algeria and deputy assistant secretary of state, says Yemen’s Houthis could seize the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait and that the US lacks the capacity to prevent it. He said the Iran-backed group wants at least to threaten the vital trade route for its own aims and because of its alliance with Tehran.
