PoliticsLIVE: Taiwan drills wartime internet blackout scenario

Taiwan is holding its annual Urban Resilience exercise alongside the Han Kuang drills. Seven northern counties and cities are conducting a roughly 30-minute mobile-network slowdown on 13 August, with air-raid alerts and restrictions on vehicles and people. The exercise is Taiwan’s first simulation of a wartime internet blackout and is testing responses to damage to key communications infrastructure such as undersea cables, affecting an estimated 17 million people.
