ScienceHuge SpaceX rocket part believed to have hit the Moon as Nasa prepares to study crash

A section of a SpaceX rocket is believed to have struck the Moon. The Falcon 9 was launched last year, and its 4,000kg upper stage separated in space as intended. It then unexpectedly ended up on a collision course with the lunar surface. Specialist telescopes monitoring the event are expected to confirm whether the impact took place. Nasa is preparing to examine the crash.
