Iran summoned British Ambassador Hugo Shorter to protest the UK’s claim that Iran was likely involved in a suspected plot targeting RAF Fairford. UK police detained five people near the base on suspicion of explosives and terrorism offenses, then released them on bail; gasoline but no explosives was found in their vans.
