SocietyFrance’s youth is undergoing ‘a crisis of hope’

Tens of thousands rallied across France on Tuesday in support of protesting high school students. The interior ministry counted about 161,500 participants, more than twice the figure for last Thursday’s nationwide demonstrations. Andrew Smith, a lecturer at Queen Mary University of London, told France 24 that young people in France are experiencing “a crisis of hope” that is fueling anger and a feeling that change is needed.
